Lock & Key Clothing - Winter 2018
One of the things I love most about owning my own clothes store (apart from having an endless supply of new clothes to choose from) is the creative side of the business. Fashion has always been a love of mine and I feel like it sprang from endless hours flicking through fashion magazines and staring in awe and the beautiful fashion photo shoots.
Putting a shoot together is no small feat. There is a team to assemble including photographer, hair, makeup, model, stylist... Not to mention finding a location and building a mood or theme for the shoot. Logistics need to be considered, weather taken into account, the team needs to be fed and watered and the shoot itself can be exhausting. There's still nothing quite like seeing your vision come together though and when you find a great team you get to have some fun on the way.
My vision for AW18 was to create a very laidback, lounge like feel (even for the few dressier pieces we had included). Paired back makeup and messy hair combined with slouchy styles and layering over tees and bralettes where the key elements, just like I'm sure we all do at home in the cooler months. Our Stylist, (Nat from The Other F Word) who I have worked with many times did a great job of bringing this together with the clothes and set against the gorgeous (newly renovated) Tradewinds Hotel in Fremantle I think we nailed it.
Tristan Jud was our amazing photographer who brought the vision to life behind the lens as well as our talented makeup artist (Megann from Megann Makeup Artistry) and stunning model (Desiree Rafferty of Chadwicks Models)... I mean just look at those freckles!
All in all it was a pretty smooth sailing day, the rain even held off for us til the shoot was done. We had a great team and I really hope you enjoy the AW18 Campaign as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
Pieces from the collection are available for sale from Lock & Key Clothing.
